Been silent for a while, but I've been getting ready for my photo shoot!
Our friend Matt Floreen, spent a Sunday afternoon with my wife and I to shoot some portraits. I love them! Lola looks so beautiful. Thank you Matt.
Matt also took pictures of us one year ago...at our wedding as our photographer. What a great gift for our one year anniversary and for my birthday!

"Teacup Brain" is a quote from a friend of mine who used this phrase in one of his sermons. His picture actually illustrating the fact that knowing God is like a "placing the entire ocean into a teacup." Just like the volume of water in the entire Earth cannot fit or be held in a puny, tiny, fragile teacup, so to our minds when we try to comprehend and seek to know about God. Yet, this is what the Apostle Paul prays for the believers in Ephesians 3.
Teacup Brain is a picture, actually, a picture of my brain, trying to comprehend the vastness that is God, His Son Jesus Christ, and His plan to bring ultimate glory to Himself. My puny, limited mind, cannot comprehend the expanse of God's infinite, all-knowing mind, yet I desire to know more of Him.
Bruce Ware helps to know more of God as revealed in Isaiah 40 in a sermon in Mars Hill Church in Seattle. The sermon is entitled: "Beholding the God of Self-Sufficient Fullness." May you be blessed as well.

Okay, for those who don't know about the game Settler's of Catan: Cities and Knights, you probably won't understand this. So, please indulge my geek-ness for a little bit.
I RARELY win at this game. So I've been playing online with the computer, and not only did I beat the computer, I demolished it! When I got to 30 points and exhausted most of the items that I can buy, I decided to claim victory.

It's amazing the variety of friends that God has placed in my path. Each one unique in their own personalities, backgrounds, cultures, tastes, preferences, and talents. They all blend to fill my world with great color. Of which, I am appreciative.
One of those friends, the multi-talented Laticia, shows off her skills in her television appearance on Game Show Network's "I've Got a Secret." She is on the left sitting next to the game show host, Bil Dwyer. I posted the YouTube link below.

I won't tell you her secret, but it does involve mastery of her vocal chords and mouth.
This is Laticia doing her thing.

This picture is one of the judges, Jermaine Taylor, 'gettin' down' to Laticia's secret talent.

Click here to see Laticia's secret.
More of Laticia's talents can be seen in the following videos for our church group. A little background on the video. We were promoting a group retreat and we usually do quirky videos for promotion. This time, we surprised everyone, even our pastor Kurt. He thought that there was a video ready, but we had something else in mind...a surprise musical. We used the song from the Broadway show "The Producers," changed up the words and here's the result. Many thanks to Chris (the other lead character) and Yulia (unseen) for playing the piano, and lastly, Steve as the camera man/editor. Thanks also to Prangtsgrup for the inspiration!

This video is a bunch of inmates from a Philippine jail dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller. I don't know where to begin...
If you ever spend time in jail in the Philippines, it may not be bad. At the least, you'll learn how to dance thriller. This proves it, all Filipinos have some rhythm!

I am currently listening to a sermon by Jim Newheiser that I downloaded from Biblical Counseling Online. It's very convicting as well very encouraging to see that I have hope in Christ in being able to change my heart to make me a better husband that pleases Him.
After hearing Pastor Newheiser at a conference last Saturday, I decided to look him up on the web. He pastors a church in Escondido, CA and has a great number of free counseling resources (sermons) on the website. I'm downloading as I write. His sermon also addresse women regarding their husbands.
You can download the sermon by clicking here.
May the Lord affect your soul as He did mine.
My Honey's Birthday!

My sweet wife is having her birthday today. Last night we "kind of" surprised her with a birthday party. I say kind of because on the way there, as we were making a turn to the house, some of her friends turned in front of us coming from the opposite way. She said, "Hey, isn't that Nancy?" I laughed and said, "No, I don't think it was."
After we parked on the street, she opened the door and I can see two people walking from my rear-view mirror. They were Nancy and her sister Veronica (the same ones making the turn). When they saw Lola, I saw them turn a complete 180 and run behind the nearest car. Lola saw them, and we both started laughing. It was so funny. I didn't realize that they can run that fast. I told Lola, "Okay, just pretend that you didn't see that."
She was still surprised of who were there. Many old friends that we haven't seen since we got married were there. Some of her family came over. Her smile told me how happy she was. Steve brought with him, Karaoke Revolution presents American Idol. After a hearty dinner, we spent the rest of the evening till 11:30PM playing the game. Lola got good comments from all the judges in the game including Simon Cowell.
It's been a rough time these past weeks. These respites of fun and happy times sure does the soul good. We thank God for our family and friends who showed up. She doesn't know this, but we're surprising her AGAIN with another party tonight. More karaoke? No, but sure more treasuring our friendships that God has graciously given.
